I found out about this myself and solved it after I found a really large suPHP error log but getting the confirmation here was pretty satisfying. Anyway, I read that mod_php is not as fast as fastCGI and I'm trying to figure out now if I should use suPHP, mod_php or fastCGI on my dedicated server. You rock.
